Today's home circuit. Been working out at home for several months now for a change from the gym. The jumping and calf raises are set by the physio to rehab my achilles. My principal goal this year is to do full pull ups again. I keep failing at this goal, but I will succeed this year!!!

I am really enjoying this book. A great many quotables which may also make their way onto here as well.

This book was pitched very oddly. He says he wanted it to be a 'self-help' manual and his tone reflected that (although I often found it too simplistic and kind of patronising), but the level of detail he went into sometimes was too much, or too clinical, for that audience. In addition, it was very repetitive and despite my massive interest in health, I struggled to get through it at times. That said, his thesis is very interesting and convincing and I would recommend it for that reason.

Am I the only sicko who likes not doing certain stretches for a while, so that they can feel the delicious burn when they stretch that muscle group again? 🥴

This book is absolutely riveting, compelling, and fascinating. I’ve abandoned everything else for it.

Really appreciate Dr Hyman's comments towards the end of the podcast around helping people learn how to eat healthily by having 'community health workers' go into people's homes and showing them how to cook and eat healthily.

I went to Palestine and Israel in 2006 and I will never forget the absolute atrocities I witnessed the Israeli state daily committing against the Palestinians. It was so bad that I finally came to know and understand why suicide bombers exist. This is a photo of the Bethlehem wall which separates Palestinians from their own land and their own people. That some artwork by Palestinian children could be removed from a London hospital when this monstrosity and its 'artwork' and much, much worse confronts Palestinians on a daily basis makes me want to destroy the world.

Sometimes I do think that I am blessed with the gift of foresight. Thank god I am a convert to urban gardening.

I came across this quote by Rosa Luxemburg in my early twenties and still think of it often. It seems especially relevant in today's censorious times.

I really enjoyed this thoughtful discussion from the Radically Genuine Podcast about mental health as an industry, a profession, in an educational setting, and as something we all have.
